Brief presentation of the institution

The Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology at the University of Zagreb was founded 27 years ago, although the studies of food technology and biotechnology have a much longer tradition which goes back to the year 1921. The Faculty has educated generations of food technologists, biotechnologists and nutritionists who have worked in the food, fermentation and pharmaceutical industries and in various positions in the public sector.

Since the academic year 2005/2006, in accordance with the changes in the entire higher education system, the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology has offered its students the choice of three undergraduate study programmes in the duration of three years. After completing the undergraduate study programme students have two choices: finding employment or continuing their studies for two more years at the graduate level, with a choice of five study programmes in the duration of two years:
