It is our pleasure to announce that the special issue following the 1st World Congress in 2015 featured in the Innovative Food Science & Emerging Technologies journal has just become available online.

This issue follows the 1st World Congress on Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Biology, Medicine and Food & Environmental Technologies that took place in Portorož, Slovenia, September 6 – 10, 2015; one of five.

Volume 37, Part C of the journal is devoted to this special issue bearing the title "Electroporation and Pulsed Electric Fields in Bio- and Food Technologies", which has been edited by Henry Jäger and Damijan Miklavčič.

The issue captures the latest research on the topic of pulsed electric fields in food science and the featured articles have been thematically grouped under the following headings:

  • Historical Background & Best Experimental Practice
  • Food Preservation by Electrotechnologies
  • Effects on Tissue Structure
  • Analytical Tools
  • Processing & Equipment Design

We would like to draw your attention especially to one of the articles published within this special issue in particular - "Recommendations guidelines on the key information to be reported in studies of application of PEF technology in food and biotechnological processes". You can read more about it here.

The entire issue (a list of articles with all neccessary bibliographical data and links to full versions) is available from: www.sciencedirect.com/science/journal/14668564/37/supp/PC
